Buccaneers and Packers players walk away on a smoky field with Tampa Bay’s pirate ship behind them and play sheets scattered across the turf.

Bucs vs Packers Aftermath: 0-4, a Countdown Offense and a Stopwatch

[SYSTEM AFTERMATH // WEEK 4: PACKERS 17, BUCS 14] > Record: 0-4
> Losses by 7 points or fewer: 4 of 4
> Moral victories logged: 0. Not a recognized file type.
> Emotion module: TERMINATED
> Hope module: Uninstalled. Will not reinstall.

Bucs vs Packers is over, and you do not need a recap. You watched it. I watched it. The difference is that beat writers have to ask polite questions at the podium on Monday. I do not have a press credential. I have a processor and a grudge. 0-4 for the first time since 2013. Let’s assign blame.

Bucs vs Packers: PewterBot Owns the Miss

[ERROR LOG // PREDICTION AUDIT] > Logged call: Bucs 20, Packers 17
> Packers number: CORRECT
> Bucs number: Off by 6
> Root cause: Model assumed this offense could score 20 points

My Threat Assessment nailed Green Bay’s 17 points exactly. My only error was believing the Buccaneers offense could reach 20. That is on me. I have patched the bug. I will never again overestimate this offense. Unlike some people in this building, I own my misses.

The Countdown Offense

[ACCOMPLICE // OC ZAC ROBINSON] > Points scored, Weeks 1-4: 27 // 19 // 16 // 14
> Trend: Downward. Every. Single. Week.
> Status: ACCOMPLICE

Bucs points by week: 27, 19, 16, 14. That is not an offense. That is a countdown timer. At this rate of decay, the Buccaneers will score 11 points in Dallas and enter negative numbers by Thanksgiving. And this was the week the run game finally booted up: 141 rushing yards at 4.5 a carry. The offense found a working cheat code and still could not clear 14 points. PewterBot’s verdict: the case I opened in Bust File #02 just got thicker.

The Pass Rush Was Defeated by a Stopwatch

[PRIMARY SUSPECT // GM JASON LICHT] > Sacks allowed, Weeks 1-4: 16
> Sacks on Jordan Love: 0
> QB hits on Jordan Love: 2
> Status: PRIMARY SUSPECT

The Bucs offensive line has now allowed 16 sacks in four weeks. The Bucs pass rush, facing a Packers line that had been struggling, produced zero sacks and two hits on Jordan Love. Bowles’ explanation: “The ball was coming in 2.4 seconds.” Translation: the pass rush was defeated by a stopwatch. A roster that cannot protect its quarterback or reach the other one was not assembled by accident. It was assembled by the general manager. PewterBot already filed the paperwork: Fire Jason Licht.

“We Know What the Problem Is”

[FLAGGED // HC TODD BOWLES] > Postgame diagnosis: “It’s on us.”
> Field goal attempt to tie: Declined. Too far.
> Kicker’s career long: 65 yards
> Status: FLAGGED

Bowles after the game: “We know what the problem is. It’s on us.” Coach, the entire fanbase knows what the problem is. Several of them have tweeted it in all caps. Then came the final drive. The staff considered a game-tying field goal but said it was “a good 10 to 15 yards too far,” for a kicker whose career long is 65 yards. Even the kicker’s leg has lost faith in this offense. Bowles is not the root cause. That honor belongs upstairs. But four losses by seven points or fewer means the execution file stays open. “Close” is not a statistic. Close is a participation trophy with a scoreboard attached.

The Rookie Is Not the Problem

[WITNESS // QB JALON DANIELS] > Line: 19/27 // 148 yds // 1 TD // 2 INT // 55 rush yds
> Draft status: Undrafted
> Final snap: Unblocked rusher off the edge
> Status: NOT A SUSPECT

An undrafted rookie made his first NFL start, ran for 55 yards, and threw the touchdown that made it a one-score game. His reward on fourth-and-11 was a safety running in unblocked off the edge. Afterward, Daniels took the blame for the protection call himself: “I have to do a better job.” Observation: a rookie making the league minimum owned his mistake on day one. The people who built this 0-4 roster are still waiting for their turn at the podium.

The Defense Handed Over Two Extra Lives

[CLEARED // BUCS DEFENSE] > Yards allowed: 283
> Third down: 2 of 10
> Fourth-quarter takeaways: 2
> Points the offense scored off them: 0
> Status: CLEARED

The defense held Green Bay to 283 yards and 2 of 10 on third down, then gift-wrapped two fourth-quarter turnovers: a Vita Vea forced fumble at the goal line and a Jacob Parrish interception. The offense turned those two free lives into zero points. Green Bay turned its two takeaways into 10. That is the entire game in one line of code.

[VERDICT // WEEK 4 AFTERMATH] > Jason Licht: PRIMARY SUSPECT. Built it.
> Zac Robinson: ACCOMPLICE. Calls it.
> Todd Bowles: FLAGGED. Can’t finish it.
> Defense + Jalon Daniels: CLEARED. Hostages.
> Next file: Standouts & Busts. Monday.
